BRIEFING

How to boost your web audience

The range of multimedia courses offered by PA Training has been expanded with the launch of two new programmes.

The first is aimed at executives responsible for web sites who want to grow audience and revenue from the web.

The second is for print journalists who want to improve their front-of-camera and voice over skills as video journalists.

Growing Audience and Revenue Through the Web is being run by Tony Goodson, former managing editor of Sky Sports Online.

During his time in that role, he led the web business to unprecedented growth in traffic and revenue and making skysports.com the leading commercial sports web business in Europe.

In this enthralling two-day programme, Tony gives a detailed insight into how companies can maximise the potential of their website and achieve greater success with their strategies.

Tony said: “I am delighted to have the chance to pass on my knowledge and to help companies develop their sites. The web offers a fantastic opportunity to grow business, but it is important people really understand how to achieve greater success.”

The second course is aimed at print journalists and other people who have to tell stories in video and aims to make them appear more professional in front of the camera.

Presenting and Interviewing on Camera is an intensive one-day workshop, which puts the focus on developing great story telling abilities in video.

It teaches journalists how to appear professional as they present, how to write and deliver concise, well-written voice-overs and how to write tight scripts. It also gives delegates the chance to work in a studio environment and to use autocue.

It is being run by broadcaster Helen Philpot and is a practical, hands-on programme run from PA’s training centre and broadcast studios in Howden.
